Servings: 1 cup
Course: Herbal Tea

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dried or fresh orange peel
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 thin slice fresh ginger
  • 3-4 whole cloves
Optional Boosters
  • ¼ star anise pod
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • ½ teaspoon licorice root
  • 1 teaspoon rose hips
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon coconut milk for creaminess

Method

  1. Add all herbs and spices to a small saucepan with water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea into your favorite cup, or cover the mug and steep a few extra minutes for a stronger flavor.
  5. Sweeten with honey, or stir in coconut milk for a silky finish.
  6. Sip slowly, breathe in the aroma, and enjoy the cozy warmth.

Notes

  • Adjust the Strength: Simmer longer for a stronger, more aromatic tea or a few minutes less for a lighter flavor.
  • Customize Sweetness: Honey is classic, but maple syrup or coconut sugar works beautifully, too.
  • Creamy Finish: Coconut milk, almond milk, or regular milk will give a richer, silky texture.
  • Herbal Swaps: If you don’t have all the optional boosters, the tea is still delicious without them.
  • Storage Tip: Brewed tea can be stored in the fridge for up to 48 hours—reheat gently before drinking.
  • Serving Suggestion: Perfect for cozy mornings, afternoon breaks, or sharing with friends during the holidays.
  • Mindful Sip: Take a moment to breathe in the aroma—it’s part of the comforting experience!
