Quick Fire Cider Recipe

This quick fire cider recipe is a powerful, all-natural remedy to boost your immune system and fight off colds and flu. Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 10 garlic cloves smashed
  • 2-3 fresh jalapeño or cayenne peppers chopped
  • 1-2 inches fresh turmeric root sliced
  • 1-2 inches fresh horseradish root chopped
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root sliced
  • 1 quart 4 cups raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar enough to cover all ingredients once in the jar.
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup, to taste

Equipment

  • 1 half-gallon jar with airtight lid
  • 1 Strainer
  • parchment paper
  • 1 jar for final storage

Method
 

  1. Prepare a clean half-gallon mason jar (64 ounces) and attach an airtight metal lid.
  2. Chop the solid ingredients (onion, garlic, peppers, turmeric, horseradish, ginger) into small pieces and add them to the jar.
  3. Pour raw apple cider vinegar into the jar until all the solid ingredients are submerged.
  4. Seal the jar with the metal lid and give it a good shake.
  5. Store in a cool, dark place for 2–4 weeks, shaking occasionally.
  6. After steeping, strain out the solids using a strainer and transfer the fire cider into a glass bottle for storage.
  7. Sweeten with raw honey or maple syrup to taste, if desired.

Notes

How to Use:
  • Take 1–2 teaspoons daily as a preventative tonic or a shot to help with colds and sore throats.
  • Add to salad dressings, soups, or mix with other natural drinks for added health benefits.
